Compact flash cards have recently replaced floppy disks and CDs as the preferred means of transferring data from one computer to another. With their largest size capacities of up to 16 GBs they can be used for major backup functions or to securely store entire projects. Because these flash cards have solid state memory components, they store and retrieve data and incredibly fast speed. Put simply, there are no moving parts.
One drawback of using compact flash drives is that when we delete files from them they do not transfer into our Windows recycle bin. When a files deleted on a compact flash drive the space allocated that file is immediately marked available for new file storage. For this reason we often find ourselves with the need to undelete compactflash files. Usually these are files we had never intended to delete in the first place. File Finder is a superb program to undelete compact flash files. As with all data recovery using File Finder you will begin by loading the special File Finder recovery disk into your computer’s CD/DVD disk drive. You’ll make this disk simply by using a friends or other available computer to burn the File Finder image file onto any CD or DVD. Once you have loaded File Finder by means of the recovery disk onto your computer undelete flash card files by scanning the drive holding the card and selecting the desired recoverable files from the now created list.
