Microsoft Word is the most commonly used word processor in the world. It is so popular that most people are unaware the file extension .doc was specifically invented by Microsoft for word. Much in the way the word Kleenex has come to mean a tissue, a doc file represents any document. Document files are the second most common type of files accidentally deleted with the first of course being photos. To recover Word documents you will need a program specifically designed to recognize .doc files. While many data recovery programs can do this, the basis for their recovery is usually the simple find and replace recognition of the .doc file extension. This is fine in many circumstances but what happens when both the name of the file and the extension have been erased by deletion? When this happens you will need a program as powerful as File Finder.

File Finder will actually recognize the binary code structure of damaged or deleted files that were Microsoft Word documents. Once File Finder sees these files it records the location and restores the original file name. Both of these are placed on a list so that you may check through them and select any or all files you wish to recover. To recover Word document files you need only check on the box next to the files you want and click on the button to recover files. If your list of recoverable files is excessively long which is very possible, as often File Finder will find tens of thousands of recoverable files on a hard drive, then you need only type .DOC into the File Finder search box. All of the files for rescue are then sorted so that you can recover Word doc files separately.
