Before you insert your floppy into a drive, you need to be sure that the magnetic platter is able to rotate freely inside. If it is stuck, then the disk cannot be read. To free up a stuck disk, you can use the tip of a plastic pen gently inserted in the rectangular hole in the center section of the disk to carefully rotate it by hand.
