Photo card recovery refers to the restoration of lost, damaged, or deleted files on any of the many solid state digital storage memory card types. These include the very popular SD card, as well as older smart cards and MMC card formats. Most of these photo cards are formatted in the early Windows file allocation table system that being known as the FAT32 system.

It is important to remember that many times when accessing a photo memory card from your computer you will be prompted with a message suggesting that the card has not been formatted and must be reformatted. These prompts are almost always an error and must be disregarded, otherwise you will reformat your photo memory card into a different file system and basically destroy all chance of photo card recovery. The key to all file recovery problems is to avoid overwriting any new information onto that digital storage card. If you suspect you have damaged files on a card or if you know you have deleted files directly from your camera before having the chance to download them, immediately remove that card from your digital camera and do not use it until you are able to scan that card completely and recover from it all deleted files by using File Finder.
