Image rescue software tools are programs designed specifically for the purpose of locating files on your computer’s hard drive or a digital camera memory card and restoring those files to their original working condition. Most image rescue deals strictly with recovery of digital photographs. While there are several dozen quality programs designed specifically for image file recovery, we recommend our general purpose data recovery program File Finder as a better solution for image rescue. To begin with, File Finder has been created to recognize not just common and popular image file types such as JPGs and GIFs, File Finder will also recognize proprietary high end camera manufacturer’s RAW files. This is an extremely important feature, for when we accidentally delete files from our digital camera’s built in memory or a memory card inserted into that camera, the lost files are usually initially stored in the RAW format.
If you are attempting to rescue image files after a successful download from your camera, then those cameras files more than likely have been converted to a standard image format and are hidden away somewhere on your computer’s hard drive. Because File Finder is a bit more powerful than digital photo recovery software designed only for that purpose, it can more quickly look through a large hard drive for your image files. Having a program that will successfully recover files is of course the base requirement, but having a program that can achieve the same function and in a reasonable amount of time is even more important.
