Disk recover software has taken a giant stride forward with the creation of File Finder. No longer do computer users need to dismantle their laptop or desktop PC in order to recover files locked away on a crashed or frozen hard drive. Most computer users to not realize that a hard drive crash had little to do with an actual physical malfunction of that hard drive. 99% of all hard disk problems are caused by file loss resulting in access being denied to a computer hard drive. Consider this as if you had lost the keys to your car. The car might still work perfectly but without the keys you cannot open it and drive away. Hard drive access is extremely similar. Important operating system files that allow you access to all of the stored files on your computer hard drive are accessed by means of your Windows operating system driver files. These files are easily corrupted or damaged during startup or shutdown of your computer. In fact you will often see a Windows error message specifically mentioning file types no longer found but still needed.
In order to reactivate both your computer and your hard drive you will need to reload or repair your Windows operating system. Before doing so you must load the File Finder recovery disk into your computer. File Finder will then start up your computer and give you access to copy from your hard drive all stored files to a new safe storage location.
