MMC data recovery - Retrieve your Multimedia card files
An MMC or multimedia card is a simple solid state flash digital storage device intended for saving of image and other audiovisual files. Their initial use was made popular in mobile phones but we mostly see them used today in PDAs. That last point being noted, we often lose files on our PDAs due to accidental or premature deletion. If you have lost or deleted files on an mmc storage card, a simple means of file recovery is available. File Finder the world’s most versatile file recovery tool has been designed to accommodate fast and easy MMC data recovery. As when attempting file recovery on any solid state digital storage media your first step will be to insert the MMC card into a reader connected to your computer by means of a USB Port or directly into the card slot many computers have which is designed expressly for this purpose.
Once the card is inserted into your computer, load the File Finder recovery disk into your computer’s CD/DVD disk drive and restart your unit. Doing so will start up your computer using File Finder’s built in miniature Windows operating system. Once the File Finder OS loads choose from the start menu the File Finder program itself and open it. Next you may opt to click on the bright blue help button on the File Finder program and follow its illustrated instructions or simply choose from the drop down menu the location of your MMC card and click on the find files button directly to the right of that menu. Because MMC digital media cards are relatively small in storage size, your card will be completely search through and scanned in under 1 minute. The results of the scan will be an itemized list of all files found on that card including any that have been recently deleted. You can choose from this list any or all files for recovery to your computer’s hard drive or any external digital storage.

An MMC or MultiMedia card is a flash memory digital storage card using a specified standard that allows it to integrate with a variety of digital devices such as video cameras, digital cameras and PDAs. This standard is almost identical to basic SD card design with the only difference being the amount of the actual physical connection remaining visible. A specific advantage of an MMC card is its slightly smaller physical size than that of a standard camera memory card. This allows it to be used for storage in devices such as mobile phones. Files are stored in multimedia cards in the same manner as are stored in any other type of solid state flash memory. Hence when we are dealing with a problem requiring MMC recovery we simply address that situation as we do any other file recovery task. This is done by loading onto our computer the File Finder recovery program.
File Finder always loads by means of your computer’s CD/DVD disk drive. We load File Finder this way so as to prevent any possibility of accidentally overwriting the very files we plan to recover. Once the File Finder program has been started, choose the drive holding your MMC card from the drop down select menu. Follow the illustrated File Finder instructions as to how to choose your recovery options. Then click on find files. In less than 5 minutes, any existing files or deleted files that were stored on your MMC card are made available on a list for recovery. Any or all of the files shown can be selected for MMC recovery and instantly saved to other safe storage such as your computer’s internal hard drive, an external hard drive or a simple USB compact flash drive.
SD card data recovery follows the suit of all file recovery when using solid state digital storage devices. Other types of these devices include compact flash drives and digital camera memory cards. Even popular music players such as iPods use solid state memory. An advantage to this type of digital storage as used in SD cards is that there are basically no moving parts and data retrieval time is infinitesimally small. Simply put, SD cards are fast.
No matter how your SD card files have been lost, the best means to retrieve them remains the same. That is to use File Finder. File Finder is a high quality data recovery tool designed for easy SD card data recovery. You can use File Finder for SD photo recovery such as is needed when files are lost during the download of a digital camera into your computer’s hard drive or for any type of SD recovery. If you have accidentally deleted files from your SD card, or if you simply went to access files on a card and discovered they were no longer available, File Finder will scan that card, locate your files and offer them to you on a list for recovery.
Once File Finder has located all of the existing or deleted files hidden away on your SD card, those files will be listed before you with the original file name and date last modified intact. You can then scroll down the list of files to find the files you are looking for, use the auto sort function of File Finder to quickly narrow down huge numbers of files to a more easily handled list. The auto sort function of File Finder will allow you to group recovered files into easily recognizable categories such as pictures, documents or compressed files. You can also choose to type a specific file name into the text box and let File Finder sift through hundreds of thousands of files for you until it finds that specific lost file.
