Let’s start this brief tutorial on camera picture recovery with a look at the types of files we will be attempting to find and restore. Most people are aware of the JPEG and GIF picture file types. Add to these file extensions popular image types such as PNGs and video files using the AVI extension. There are over 100 often used picture file types. When working on a project to recover digital camera image files these common file extensions will be searched for within your computer’s internal hard drive. When using File Finder the world’s most efficient and easy to use data recovery tool, this type of search is considered to be very basic. You will simply be directing the File Finder program to look over your computer’s hard drive for all recently deleted files. File Finder will create a list of recoverable files and you can auto sort that list or manually look over it.
A more complicated aspect of camera picture recovery takes place when we would like to recover original camera RAW files that were lost during transfer downward from our camera into our computer. To affect a search you will simply direct File Finder to look through the drive containing your digital camera memory card or the direct USB connection attached to your camera. Because all of the recovered files will be image files you can use the helpful File Finder preview feature to look at thumbnails of all of your pictures before deciding which ones to permanently recover.
